Superman has left Earth in the hands of Nightwing, Flamebird, Mon-El and the Guardian.

The tensions between Earth and New Krypton are slowly rising. The winds of war are stirring.

As our very own Dan DiDio has teased numerous times, 2010 is going to be a huge year for Superman. But just what is going on has not been revealed.

Until now. Welcome to the WAR OF THE SUPERMEN.

This lovely piece of J.G. Jones artwork is the cover to WAR OF THE SUPERMEN #0, which will hit stands 5/1/10, as the DCU FREE COMIC BOOK DAY title, and will kick off an event that is sure to change Superman’s status quo.

What more can we say? Not a lot — we can tell you writer James Robinson and artist Eddy Barrows will be taking point on the issue — but we did manage to rope SUPERMAN Group Editor Matt Idelson for a quick tease about what’s to come. Take it away, Matt:

“WAR OF THE SUPERMEN is the culmination of literally years of stories in the Super-books, all building to a destructive conflict which can have no victors. This Free Comic Book Day #0 issue is going to show the readers that no cows are sacred, and that they don’t want to miss this event.”

So we came up with this idea. Catie loves monkeys and we found an ogran grinders monkey costume online. We decided to go as Gypsies. Karine made the pipe organ out of cardboard and we inserted a pair of speakers so that it would play hurdygurdy music on a loop.

Entertainment Weekly releases the first image of the new A-Team cast for the forth coming movie. Liam Neeson as Hanibal, Bradley Cooper as Face-man, Shariot Copley as "Howlin' Mad" Murdock and Quentin "Rampage" Jackson As B.A. Baracus the role made famous by Mr. T. I usually avoid stuff like this like the plague, except for Star trek which worked out well, but the Kid in me, the Kid who watched every episode of the A team religiously is giddy as hell.

For the ones of you who are uninitiated:

The A-team were a group of U.S. Army commandos who while serving a tour of duty in Vietnam, were framed for the robbery of the Bank of Hanoi. Escaping from a military prison, they made it back to United States. They became Soilders of fortune operating out of Los Angeles, usually taking on hard luck clients who didn't have a lot of money. "If you have trouble, if no else can help and you can find them, maybe you can hire... The A-Team!"

The Way back Machine

Inspired by my buddy Green lantern/ Black Canary artist Mike Norton who posted pages from his Joggers samples from 1994, I went into the massive art archive and found a story I did in 1995. The story was for a mini comic called Massachusetts State Police :Watchtower Division. It was a paying gig, i think a whopping 50 dollars a page.
As I look at the pages some things pop out.
Why does the lead character (The cop, not the gaint gargoyle) look like Moe Howard?
I drew a ramp in a lighthouse bercause at the time I couldn't draw people walking up a stair case to save my life.
The interior of the lighthouse itself. having spent some time in Lighthouse both military and civilian since then, I would have handle this differently. It's like the fraking Tardis in there. Lighthouses arent that big.

Supergirl: One Year Later

Before I left for Jamaica, the day before I left I turned in the last seven pages of Supergirl #46. 12 issues ago I was announced as the artist of the series. In fact at the time I started working on it Catie was 4 months old, Karine had just returned to work a few weeks before and we were trying to figure out how to be parents.

I'm still trying to figure out the parenting thing however so much has happened. I came to the project with some preconceived notions and was happily disappointed, not just by Sterling's immense talent as a writer but the whole experience of working with the Superman characters.I want to say thanks to all of you who've supported our run. I want to say thanks to Nei Ruffino, Keith Champagne, Jon Sibal, Tom Chu, Pete Pantanzis and Jared Fletcher, I'm enjoying the work more than I have any project in a while and proud to have you guys as my partners. Thank you Matt Idelson, Nachie Castro, Wil Moss, Sean Ryan and Geoff Johns for giving me the shot. I was in Matt Idelson's office discussing what's going to be happening with issue 50 and it's gonna be nuts. It's just the beginning to Supergirl 2010 and I'm proud to be a part of it!

So for those unaware Karine, the Catie and I spent the past week on vacation in Jamaica. We had a wonderful time and are planning on going back soon. There will be photos posted soon. In the mean time I'm easing back into my regular work schedule and should be starting world's Finest next week. On to the updates:

since it's already been revealed via Newsarama, I can talk about it. I will be taking three issues off from Supergirl Starting with issue #47. However as announced i will be drawing World's finest #3 featuring Batgirl, Supergirl and Catwoman. After which I'll be back on Supergirl in time for issue # 50. So I'm not on Supergirl but still drawing Supergirl..

I told you it was a little weird.

She walks, She talks and she's changed so much it's mind boggling. She's got this huge personality now. I'm in awe, She's fearless, friendly , and sweet. I know she may not stay this way but I'm holding onto these days as much as possible.
